Nobuo Tanaka, Chairman of The Sasakawa Peace Foundation, chaired an interesting first day and spoke on the future of Japan in a global LNG context

 • Leading players such as JERA, Tokyo Gas, IEEJ and Mitsui discussed their strategies and how they are opening new markets in Asia


John McCarrick, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Diplomacy, U.S. State Department, analysed trade collaborations in LNG

SMBC and MUFG (two of the world’s largest banks in LNG), provided a very dynamic and informative project financing session

• The Summit reviewed trending topics such as LNG as a fuel, which is set to become a notable source of demand in Japan and the evolving spot market in the region. European leaders also shared their expertise on how deregulation and infrastructure access can drive demand


• A successful networking drinks reception, hosted by Venture Global LNG, was held with amazing views of Tokyo and Koto Performance
