In September 2022 Ken Freeman joined ExxonMobil’s Low Carbon Solutions business moving to Singapore to assume the role of Vice President for Policy Development for the Asia Pacific region.

Ken began his career with ExxonMobil in January 2002 as the Public Affairs Advisor to the Point Thomson Development Project in Alaska.  He subsequently served as Alaska Public & Gov't Affairs Manager until moving to Houston in 2007 and supporting public and government affairs for U.S. Production Operations.  In 2008 he became the public affairs advisor for ExxonMobil’s Global Gas and Power Marketing Organization and in 2009 moved to California to serve as the Public and Gov’t Affairs manager for ExxonMobil’s Torrance Refinery.

Following Ken’s assignment in Torrance he transferred to Papua New Guinea to support development of the PNG LNG project as Public and Gov’t Affairs Manager, stationed in the country’s capital city of Port Moresby for over three years.

Ken returned to Houston in 2014 to serve as the Asia Pacific Public Affairs Manager and late in 2015 was named the Public and Gov’t Affairs Manager for ExxonMobil’s Global Production Company.  Ken assumed the role as US Gov’t Relations manager for Exxon Mobil Corporation in January of 2017 working from the corporate office in Irving.

In early 2019 Ken assumed the role of Operations Manager for Public and Gov’t Affairs and in July of 2020 was appointed the Vice President of the Washington DC office for ExxonMobil.

Prior to joining ExxonMobil Ken had ten years of previous experience in gov’t/advocacy positions in Alaska including Special Assistant to the Governor for business and gasline development, Executive Director of the Resource Development Council and Press Secretary to the House Majority Caucus of the Alaska State Legislature.

Ken received a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Oregon State University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Portland State University.  He resides in Singapore with his wife and two sons.
